UKRAINE, KUPIANSK, Aug 30 — Ukrainian army pushes away Russian troops near Myrne, a village northwest of Kupiansk, reports DeepState, OSINT monitoring group that develops a war tracking map.
Russians have been trying to envelop Kupiansk by approaching it from the northern and western side since spring 2025.
On Aug 25, DeepState reported on Russian troops’ advancement near Sobolivka, a village to the west of Kupiansk and to the north of Myrne.

One kilometer south from Sobolivka lies H-26 highway, the only supply route for locals remaining in Kupiansk and Ukraine’s army. This section is still marked as an “unknown” area on the DeepState map.
Previously, Gwara relayed reports of internally displaced people and several soldiers working in and near Kupiansk, saying that Russian sabotage groups are already operating in the city.
Kupiansk and Kharkiv Oblast’s local authorities say there are no Russian sabotage reconnaissance groups in the city.
At the beginning of August, ISW confirmed Russian presence in Sobolivka, saying that their likely occupation of Myrne and Sobolivka fits Moscow’s patterns of partially enveloping the city they want to seize instead of using frontal assaults to occupy it.
