UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Feb. 11 — Ukrainian forces cleared the Chuhunivka village in the Kupiansk district of Kharkiv oblast from Russian infantry, said a commander of “Shkval” company of 129th mechanized brigade with call sign Painter (“Khudozhnyk” in Ukrainian) to Army TV.

On Feb. 7, the Russian Defence Ministry claimed the “North” group of forces seized Chuhunivka after “decisive actions.” After that, Ukraine’s 16th army corps reported that drone operators noticed the Russian infantry in time and deployed the “Shkval” rifle company to clear up the settlement.

Painter said that Russian infantry entered Chuhunivka’s outskirts. “Immediately, Russian media said that the village is theirs. If you’re following the situation, you know that they’re entering the first house in the settlement and already claiming it’s theirs. We see this tendency across the entire zero line,” said the commander.

Painter adds that there weren’t many Russian soldiers in the group “taking” Chuhunivka. After being captured by Ukrainian soldiers, some said that they “go into a meatgrinder.”

“We installed our flag in the village, set up observation posts, they won’t go there again, I guarantee it,” Painter said.

Russia conducts assaults from the north, northeast, east, and southeast of Kharkiv oblast, trying to move further into the region, increase the “kill zone” near the zero line, and cut off Ukraine’s logistics.
