UKRAINE, VOVCHANSK, Sep 24 — Units of Ukraine’s military intelligence (HUR) recaptured the Vovchansk aggregate plant that Russia occupied for the second time in May 2024, reports the HUR’s press office.
“HUR units completely liberated Vovchansk aggregate plant and destroyed occupiers inside all buildings of the plant” despite Russians putting up “an insane resistance,” the HUR’s message says.
Russians occupied the aggregate plant for the second time during the first week of the Kharkiv counteroffensive in May 2024, and Ukraine’s Armed Forces have been fighting to push them out of there since then.
According to HUR, operations were conducted by groups called “Stuhna,” “Parahon,” “Yunher,” BDK, “Terror.”
HUR press office reports that, during the combat for the Vovchansk plant, Russia utilized against Ukraine’s military intelligence artillery, attack kamikaze drones, glide bombs, and TOS-1A Solntsepyok rocket launcher.
For the first time, Moscow troops occupied the plant at the start of the full-scale invasion. It became the largest torture facility on the territories of Ukraine that were liberated during the Kharkiv counteroffensive and other Ukraine’s counteroffensives.
