Apr. 7 — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Ukrainian side had proposed an energy ceasefire to Russia, said the President during his evening speech.

Zelenskyy said that if Russia is willing to stop its attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure, Ukraine will be ready to respond similarly.

He also said that Ukraine continues to work with the United States, specifically preparing its proposals to strengthen the security guarantees document.

In March, Ukraine “overshot” Russia in the number of drone attacks for the first time since the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine war, said ABC News.

Earlier, Zelenskyy told Ukrainian media Hromadske that foreign partners asked whether it would be possible to reduce the intensity of Ukrainian strikes on Russia’s oil and energy sectors. He said Ukraine is ready to stop striking Russia’s energy infrastructure if Russia does the same.

The President also said that Ukraine supports a ceasefire during the Easter holidays. Regarding the risk that Russia might use it to consolidate its positions on the front lines, he noted that it is impossible to change the situation there in just a few days.
