UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Sep. 2 — Russia gathers information on how Ukraine’s forces apply different new military technologies on the battlefield for a long time, and, at some point, they adopt and scale this exact technology very quickly, said Oleksandr Borodyn, the officer of communication for Ukraine’s 3rd army corps, at a press conference on Sep. 1.
That, according to him, is exactly what happened to almost every unmanned technology currently used in the Russia-Ukraine war.
“Because Russia is an autoriatarian state, they can scale (technology) at the click of a finger,” Borodyn said.
He added that Ukraine, in most cases, invents new things faster, but the Russian advantage of being able to scale technology quickly across the entire frontline is an undeniable “strong component.”
Currently, Borodyn says, Russia is working to adopt Ukraine’s ground drones (or unmanned ground vehicles — UGVs) that allow the Armed Forces to both mine the ground, deliver supplies or weapons to infantry, or even evacuate the injured.
