UKRAINE, Apr. 1 — In March alone, Ukrainian air defense forces intercepted 89,9% of Russian missiles and drones, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported.
On Mar. 30, Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief, said that Ukraine downed at least 2,300 Russian kamikaze drones last month. In total, over March, Ukrainian air defense forces downed or suppressed 5395 of the Russian targets, the ministry’s statement said.
In February, Ukraine downed 85% of Russian aerial targets, specifically 5,345 units. In the first four months of the year, the proportion of interceptor drones increased by 9.7%, the Ministry of Defense added .
On Feb. 24, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry unveiled a war plan aiming to detect all Russian aerial targets and intercept at least 95% of them. According to the plan, Ukraine already launched a multi-layered “small” air-defense system and increased the number of the interceptor drones.
