UKRAINE, Aug 15 — On August 14, Ukrainian Forces attacked the Russian Olya seaport in the Astrakhan region, destroying a cargo ship Port Olya-4 with parts for Shahed drones and ammunition from Iran, said the General Staff.
Olya is a seaport in the village of Olya in the Liman district of the Astrakhan region of Russia. It is located in the Volga delta, on the right bank of the Bakhtemir River, which flows into the Caspian Sea.
The Russians use this port as an important logistics hub for the supply of military goods from Iran.
The Special Operations Forces attacked the Astrakhan region to reduce the Russians’ ability to carry out their air strikes.
Russian troops continue to attack Ukrainian cities. July became the deadliest month for Ukraine since May 2022. Russia killed 286 and injured 1,388 people over the month.
