UKRAINE, Jan. 22 — At least some of the missiles used by the Russians in their attack on Ukraine on Jan. 20 were made this year, said the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“This once again underscores how important it is for global sanctions against Russia and the blocking of the supply of critical components (to it) to actually work,” noted the President.
On the night of Jan. 20, Russian forces conducted another massive attack on Ukraine with ballistic and cruise missiles and more than 300 drones, reported Zelenskyy.
The main target was the country’s energy infrastructure. Russian attacks caused the most damage in Kyiv, parts of the Kyiv region, and Kharkiv.
Oleh Syniehubov, the governor of Kharkiv oblast, said that over 500,000 customers were without power because of Russian attacks on critical infrastructure in Kharkiv and Kharkiv oblast.
