UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Jun 3 — On June 3, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) arrested the supposed agent of the Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB). The man served in an assault platoon of the National Guard of Ukraine and allegedly directed Russian attacks on his own team, said the SBU.

The investigation said the 42-year-old man was a platoon commander who shared information about military staff, training centers, and reserve point locations with the FSB.

The soldier was, according to the investigation, supposed to give his Russian curator the list of unit officers and their number, after which FSB promised to evacuate him to Russia through the frontline on the Kharkiv axis.

“Suspect, on his initiative, got in touch with Russian services through his relatives, who are former Russian military. We removed his phone with the proof of his work with FSB,” said the SBU’s statement.

Now, the man is in custody. If proven guilty by the court, he could face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
