UKRAINE, KHARKIV REGION, Feb. 26 — Russian troops hit railway infrastructure in Barvinkove and a gas pipeline in Oskil of Izium district, said Stepan Maselskyi, the head of Izium regional military administration, on his Facebook page.
Transportation and energy infrastructure have often been targets of Russian attacks this winter. On Feb. 25, Ukraine’s oil and gas state company Naftogas reported that its storage and production facilities in Kharkiv and Chernihiv oblasts had been under constant attacks for two days.
Maselskyi wrote that, in Barvinkove, drones damaged railway tracks, a train, power networks, and the roof and windows of a house near the railway. There were no casualties.
In Oskil, Russian troops dropped glide bombs at the gas pipeline and a house, leaving 35 households without gas. No casualties have been reported here as well.
Oleksii Kuleba, Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration, said that Russia also targeted Children’s Railways in Kharkiv. It is not the first time Moscow has attacked this place in the city.
During the night of Feb. 26, Russia used 18 drones of the Shahed type and two ballistic missiles to attack Kharkiv, injuring 16 people, including two children.
