UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Jul 28 — Since the start of the full-scale invasion, 44 out of 58 сity’s medical facilities in Kharkiv have been damaged, said mayor of the city Ihor Terekhov.

“Some (medical facilities were attacked) more than once, and even more than twice. These are painful statistics. But the city’s healthcare system is functioning no worse than it did before the war. And all this is thanks to our heroic medical workers,” he wrote.

Last week, Russian troops dropped a glide bomb on Kharkiv’s tuberculosis hospital, injuring 14 people.

Before that, on July 11, they hit near a maternity hospital with a kamikaze drone, injuring nine.

In general, Russia attacks Kharkiv often. Ukraine’s second-largest city is located just 19 miles from the Russian border.

It also stands in close proximity to the frontline, encroached by Russian troops from the north (Kharkiv axis) and the east (Kupiansk and Borova axis).
