UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Jan. 2 — On Jan. 1, Russian forces launched a glide bomb at Feldman Ecopark in Lisne village, four kilometers from Kharkiv, said Oleh Syniehubov, the governor of the region.
The attack injured a 44-year-old woman. She was a volunteer who cared for animals in the ecopark. “She has a head injury, but she got into the ambulance herself and has already left,” said Oleksandr Feldman, founder of the ecopark and People’s Deputy (MP) of Ukraine, to Suspilne Kharkiv.
Feldman said that the Russian attack destroyed winter houses for predators and birds.
“The lions are injured. Everything there is destroyed. And most, if not all, of the birds have died,” added Feldman.
Also, the UAnimals public organization said that despite another attack by the Russians, Feldman refuses to evacuate animals from the ecopark.
