UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, May 8 — On May 7, Russian forces conducted 17 offensives on the Kupiansk and Kharkiv axes, said the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

On May 8 — the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in World War II — a supposed three-day ceasefire announced by Vladimir Putin, Russian President, began. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said, “we want to hear (from Russia — ed.) about an absolute ceasefire, not a temporary one.”

However, in early morning, Russia launched an FPV-drone on a civilian car near Velyki Prokhody village in the Derhachi community, injuring three women, said the local Prosecutor’s Office.

Over the past day, on the Kharkiv axis, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions near Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, and Kamianka settlements.

ISW’s Geolocated footage published on May 7 indicates that Russian forces recently advanced near the aggregate plant in central Vovchansk.

In Kupiansk direction, Russians attacked six times near Hlushkivka, Nova Kruhliakivka, and Zahryzove villages, using armored vehicles to transport infantry to the frontline for assaults.
