UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, May 30 — Over May 29, Russians attacked Ukrainian positions 13 times in the Kharkiv and Kupiansk directions, said the General Staff.
Recently, the Ukrainian military has recorded the accumulation of Russian troops near the border in the Kharkiv Oblast, but their force is not enough to advance deeper in the region.
On May 29, Ukrainian forces stopped nine Russian attacks near Starytsia and Vovchansk on the Kharkiv axis.
On the Kupiansk axis, Russia attacked four times near Stepova Novoselivka and Nova Kruhliakivka.
Russian troops also tried to build pontoon bridges to expand the bridgehead near Dvorichna, said Pavlo Shamshyn, spokesperson of the Operational Tactical Group “Kharkiv,” during a national telethon.
On May 29, the ISW reported that Russia had recently advanced in the Sumy region. Andrii Demchenko, the spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service, said that the Russian military command has concentrated enough forces in Kursk Oblast to conduct offensive operations further into Sumy Oblast.
Also, the analytical OSINT project DeepState recorded Russian advances near Vodolahy, Bilovody and Loknia villages in the Sumy region. Local authorities report that, this week, 500 people have been evacuated from the Sumy borderlands.
Earlier, the Ukrainian military operating in the Kharkiv region denied information that Russia massed 50,000 troops for an offensive on Kharkiv city.
