UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Jun 24 — On June 24, the analytical OSINT project DeepState reported about a Russian advance near Radkivka.

Radkivka is a village on the Kupiansk axis located several kilometers to the north of Kupiansk’s outskirts.

“It is hard to comment on the situation on the Kupiansk axis because of active fights there. Two or three days will pass, and it will be easier to say something,” said the “Khortytsia” operational-strategic group of forces to Gwara Media in the village, neither confirming nor denying the Russian advance.

Russia actively tries to reoccupy Kupiansk since last autumn, aiming to seize the city as it is an important logistical and railway hub for the region.

Andrii Kanashevych, the head of the Kupiansk military administration, told the local media Slobidskyi Krai that the situation in the city got more difficult because Russians ramped up their assaults in this section of the frontline.

“All the settlements near the Oskil River are under constant Russian attacks. They (Russians) launch aerial guided bombs everyday since the beginning of May. Also, we recorded a significant increase in the number of FPV drone attacks,” said Kanashevych.

Five communities near the frontline are threatened by Russians now, said Kanashevych, adding that 5,100 people still live there.

Oleh Syniehubov, governor of the Kharkiv region, said during a national telethon that evacuations from the Kupiansk and Izium districts continue.

“On average, 10 to 50 people leave per day. On the Kupiansk axis, there are 6,063 people in an evacuation zone, including 1,431 people from Kupiansk itself,” he said.

The Institute Study of War reported that geolocated footage published on June 23 indicates that Russian forces recently advanced in southern Dvorichna (north of Kupiansk).

Russian troops claimed they’d occupied Dvorichna, but Ukraine’s military rebuked their claims, saying they turned it into a “kill zone” for Russians who were trying to turn Dvorichna into a strongpoint for the advance towards Kupiansk.
