UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug 29 — On August 28, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported that the geolocated footage indicated the advances of Russian forces east of Kozacha Lopan, along the E-105 Kharkiv-Belgorod highway.
Kozacha Lopan is a village in the Derhachi district, north of the Kharkiv region, located 15.5 miles from Kharkiv and 1.24 miles from the Russian border.
According to the ISW report citing the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian forces attacked north of Kharkiv near Hlyboke and Lyptsi and northeast of Kharkiv near Vovchansk and Synelnykove on August 27 and 28.
On the Kupiansk axis, Russian forces attacked near Kupiansk itself, Sobolivka, Holubivka, toward Kolodiazne, and near Kamianka on August 27 and 28.
Russian forces attacked northeast of Borova near Borivska Andriivka, Zahryzove, and southeast near Hrekivka and Olhivka on August 27 and 28.
The commander of a Ukrainian battalion operating in the Kupiansk direction reported on August 28 that Russian forces are unable to move heavy equipment or motorcycles across the Oskil river due to Ukrainian strikes. Russian forces instead must cross the river at night on foot through shallow water in groups of up to 20 soldiers.
Over the past day, Russian forces attacked five settlements in the Kharkiv region, killing one person and injuring three people.
