UKRAINE, Aug 20 — Ukrainian military recorded Russian equipment in the Vovchansk area, but — Russians keep their tanks far away from the frontline, said a serviceman with call sign Semper, the head deputy of the fire support unit of the “Hart” brigade during the national telethon.

“Russian tanks aren’t such a big problem anymore. They can’t reach our positions because of our FPV drone attacks,” said Semper.

In the Vovchansk direction, Russians are trying to put pressure on Ukraine’s defenses and rear areas every day. On August 20, Russian troops conducted five attacks on Ukrainian positions north of Kharkiv, including Vovchansk, reported the General Staff.

Semper said that Russians have been assaulting directly for more than a year, since May 2022 (the second Russian offensive on Kharkiv Oblast — ed.), but they have not had any successes.

“Russians cannot occupy the city and even cross the Vovcha river. However, they do not stop,” he said.

The serviceman noted that Russians turned Vovchansk into ruins and occupied the ruins of the buildings there, trying to attack Ukrainian positions from these ruins. “But with the help of our aerial reconnaissance, we can see where they are concentrated and conduct attacks.”

On August 19, prosecutors brought to court the case of a Russian soldier involved in the shooting of Ukrainian soldiers at the Vovchansk aggregate plant in the Kharkiv region.
