UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Feb 12 — Russia shelled eight settlements in Kharkiv oblast and injured 8 civilians over the past day, reported Oleh Syniehubov, Kharkiv Oblast governor.
Russia attacks Kharkiv oblast often because of its proximity to the border and the frontline. Since September, strikes on the eastern and southeastern parts of the region ramped up as Russia intensified its offensive on the Kupiansk axis.
On Feb 11,
- Russian shelling of the Dvorichna community injured a 54-year-old man.
- Glide bomb attack on Zolochiv injured seven people, destroying two and damaging 11 houses.
- Six more Russian glide bombs hit open zones in the Zolochiv community, damaging civilian enterprises and cars but not injuring anyone.
- Russians also attacked Osynove in the Kupiansk community twice. Because of the first strike, a house in the settlement caught fire; the second one damaged a building of a House of Culture and a car. No injuries have been reported.
- Russia hit Borshchova in the Lyptsi community from artillery, too. No injuries have been reported from there as well.
The Feb 11 attack on Monachinivka of the Kindrashivka community damaged an ambulance. Viktor Zabashta, the head of the Center for Emergency Medical Aid, said the Russian attacks on healthcare infrastructure and its workers are systemic.
“It’s a worrying situation for us because many [emergency] vehicles have already been [destroyed], and there can be issues with providing people with aid,” said Andrii Kanashevych, the head of the Kupiansk military administration.
