UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Feb. 3 — A Russian Shahed drone hit a five-storey residential apartment building in Saltivskyi district of Kharkiv, report Gwara Media journalists from the impact site and Ihor Terekhov, mayor of the city.

The attack, according to the latest updates from Oleh Syniehubov, governor of the Kharkiv region, injured seven: five women and two men.

Though fire broke out on the upper floors of the building, destroying the flats, no one was killed. Gwara journalists report that Russia hit the building with a Geran-2 drone, which is confirmed by the Kharkiv prosecutor’s office.

“All of them are in moderate conditions, have explosive injuries and acute stress reaction,” Syniehubov said. “One 85-year-old woman needed hospitalization; she is provided with all necessary medical help in the hospital.”

This attack comes after the Russian overnight combined attack on Kharkiv that left 105,000 houses without heating, as the bombs and missiles targeted the biggest heating plant in the region.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the attack is proof that Russia used the “pause” in strikes on energy objects negotiated by Donald Trump to amass more power to hit Ukraine in the coldest days. The temperature outside in Kharkiv is -17 °C (1°F) as of writing this article.
