UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Feb. 2 — Over the past month, Russian forces attacked Kharkiv 75 times, injuring 95 people, including five children. The attacks also killed nine locals, including one child, reported Ihor Terekhov, the mayor of the city.

Terekhov said that Russians used different types of weapons, including Iskander-M missiles, Tornado-S multiple launch rocket systems, glide bombs, and Shahed drones to attack Kharkiv.

The mayor also noted the threat of different types of Russian small drones. They are dangerous because they are difficult to predict, often attack specific targets, and it’s not always identified as serious threats, Terekhov explained.

“In many cases, such drones fell without detonating or causing any damage. But when they hit their target, they can cause a lot of trouble,” he added.

In January, Russians attacked all districts of Kharkiv, damaging historical buildings, critical infrastructure, schools, kindergartens, civilian businesses, railway, sports infrastructure, garages, and dozens of cars. They also damaged houses and apartment buildings.

In January, the siren sounded 187 times in Kharkiv. This amounts to almost 248 hours, or “ten full days of constant alarm and psychological pressure,” said Terekhov.
