UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Jan. 12 — Over the past week, Russian forces attacked Kharkiv 11 times, injuring one person, said Ihor Terekhov, the mayor of the city.
The Nemyshlianskyi and Slobidskyi districts of Kharkiv have become the main targets of Russian attacks, said Terekhov.
Russians launched Shahed drones and ballistic missiles at Kharkiv during the past week.
At the beginning of the week, the Russian attacks damaged one of the energy objects that provides power to most of Kharkiv’s customers.
They damaged one object of the transport infrastructure, Terekhov also said.
Russians damaged 12 apartment buildings, breaking windows and damaging roofs. The impact is worsened by harsh weather: last week the Kharkiv Hydrometeorological Center recorded temperatures ranging from 0°C to 8°C, wind gusts of 7–12 m/s, and heavy snowfall.
Terekhov said that the municipal workers continued to repair the damage.
Over the past day, Russian forces attacked six settlements of the Kharkiv oblast with 10 drones of different types, said Oleh Syniehubov, the governor of the region.
In the Bohodukhiv district, Russian attacks damaged a house, a hangar, a car, and an outbuilding in Zolochiv settlement. They also damaged the railway infrastructure in Mayak village.
In the Kupiansk district, Russians damaged a house in the Velykyi Burluk settlement.
