UKRAINE, KUPIANSK, Oct. 9 — On Oct. 8, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported about recent Russian advances in central Kupiansk.
The source that ISW refers to showed a Ukrainian drone footage hitting an apartment building in central Kupiansk near the crossing of the P-79 and P-07 highways
“Karma doesn’t always find the Russians immediately, but our drones help bring the moment of revenge closer,” said “Black Wing,” from the unit of Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces who released the footage.
Yevhen Artelemeichuk, the officer of communications for the 10th corps of the Ukrainian army, told Gwara Media:
“Russians continue to act in small sabotage groups, trying to enter as deep as they can and avoiding contact with Ukrainian troops,” said Artelemeichuk, claiming that there are no “regular” Russian troops in Kupiansk, only saboteurs.
He also said that Russians want to improve their tactical positions before winter comes and all “green disguise” is gone.
Russian troops ramped up their assaults near and in Kupiansk and the area around it this August. Kupiansk itself is currently closed because of Ukraine’s counter-sabotage operation.
Also, the General Staff of Ukrainian forces reported about seven Russian attacks on the Kupiansk axis. Apart from Kupiansk itself, Russians attacked near Stepova Novoselivka and Kurylivka villages.
North of the Kharkiv region, Russian forces attacked 34 times near Vovchansk, Zapadne, Dovhenke, Kolodiazne, Kutkivka, Odradne, Dvorichanske, and Lyptsi.
