UKRAINE, KUPIANSK, Oct. 17 — There are about 80 Russian infantry soldiers in Kupiansk, and Ukrainian forces continue their counter-sabotage operation in the city, said Dmytro Lykhovii, the spokesperson of the General Staff, to Ukrainian Pravda.

“Early estimates indicate that as of Oct. 14, the Russians had concentrated around 80 personnel in the city. In the meantime, Ukrainian forces are preventing this number from increasing and are wiping out their infantry groups,” said Lykhovii.

The military said that Ukrainian special forces, military police, drone operators, mechanised and infantry units are conducting searches and destroying Russian groups in different parts of Kupiansk.

Lykhovii said that, on Oct. 15, Ukrainian troops killed three Russian soldiers.

The Russian groups started entering Kupiansk in early August.

One of the soldiers told Gwara Media about the experience that “if Russians have grabbed onto the first buildings in any settlement, you can only physically push them out of here. No FPV drones, ground robots, explosives, or artillery can help.”
