UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Oct. 15 — Russian drone attack on Chuhuiv damaged power lines in the city. Energy workers were unable to begin repair work because Russian drones had scattered mines across the area, said the region’s energy supplier “Kharkivoblenergo.”
Chuhuiv is a city southeast of Kharkiv, located 20 kilometers (12 miles) from the regional center.
Russian forces attacked Chuhuiv on Oct. 10 and 12 with drones, damaging civilian infrastructure and injuring at least six people.
The electricians began work only after sappers had cleared the area of mines.
“Despite the danger, energy workers fixed the damage brought by the Russian attack and restored power to all consumers who had been left without electricity,” said “Kharkivoblenergo.”
On Oct. 13, Russian forces launched an air strike on the Saltivskyi district of Kharkiv, damaging one of a city hospital’s outbuildings and injuring 57 patients who were getting treatment in the hospital.
The mayor said that over 30,000 customers were left without power after this attack on the city.
