UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Feb. 16 — Kharkiv oblast is under increasing attack from Russian drones as their attack zone expands, said Oleh Syniehubov, the governor of the region, during the national telethon.

The governor said that Russian drones now threaten territories beyond the Izium and the Kupiansk districts, which are closer to the frontline.

“We also cover the Kharkiv outskirts with anti-drone nets, because we record a few cases when certain garbage (drones — ed.) from Russia reaches us,” said Syniehubov.

In December 2025, Gwara Media visited the ring road north of Kharkiv, where anti-drone nets were currently being installed.

At a press-conference back then, Syniehubov said that as of November 2025, workers had to cover 980 kilometers (609 miles) of roads in the Kharkiv region. He added that the military decides what territory to cover with the nets first.
