UKRAINE, VOVCHANSK, Feb 5 — On Feb 4, the Russian army hit a team of journalists from TSN and 1+1 Marathon, Ukrainian media, who were working near Vovchansk in Kharkiv Oblast from an FPV (first-person view) drone.
Journalists were creating a report about the Ukrainian military. The attack injured a 31-year-old video operator; he was hospitalized, reports the local Prosecutor’s Office.
Russian troops often target journalists, humanitarian workers, and volunteers with FPV-drone attacks. Their strikes on civilian cars are also common in the Kharkiv Oblast and other areas close to the frontline.
Russia’s second ground offensive from the north that started in May 2024 destroyed almost 80% of Vovchansk over the month following the initial push into the region.
