UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Feb. 20 — The Russian Lancet drone hit the car of the White Angel police evacuation unit (“Bilyi Yangol in Ukrainian), killing two, injuring another officer, reported the press service of the Kharkiv regional police. 

A police officers Yulia Keleberda, 23, and Yvhenii Kalhan, 39, went to evacuate civilians in the Kupiansk district. The Russian drone hit their armored vehicle near the village of Serdnii Burluk, located ~20 kilometers (~12 miles) from the frontline. Both of them were killed. 

Yulia is survived by her parents, while Yevhenii is survived by his wife, 16-year-old son, and mother.

Both police officers have served in the Bilyi Yangol evacuation unit since it was launched in 2022. 

“They had carried out numerous evacuations to the most dangerous settlements, rescuing dozens of families and evacuating children, elderly people, and people with disabilities. They risked their lives to save others. Unfortunately, this evacuation was their last,” police said.
