UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Feb. 11 — Russian drone attacked an ambulance on the road near Borshchivka village in the Izium district, reported Kharkiv regional police.
The attack caused a fire in the car. There were five people inside, including a driver, a medical worker, and three patients, said Vitalii Karabanov, the head of Balakliia military administration, to Suspilne Kharkiv.
The attack killed a 63-year-old woman. Other people got injuries of different levels of intensity. One 59-year-old man was hospitalized.
Karabanov said that the ambulance was transporting hemodialysis patients home from Kharkiv, where they had received treatment.
“During a stop to drop off passengers, a Russian drone hit the car directly,” he said.
Karabanov noted that the car had relevant markings and inscriptions indicating that it was a medical transport.
He also said that it was the first attack of a Russian drone on an ambulance in the Balakliia community.
