UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Mar 26 — On March 25, around 10:00 p.m., Russian troops launched a drone strike at an animal shelter with animals evacuated from other regions because of Russia’s war, Kharkiv Oblast Prosecutor’s Office reported.
There were horses, sheep, goats, and pigs saved from Avdiivka and Pokrovsk (occupied and embattled cities in Donetsk Oblast) and Vovchansk and Kupiansk (cities in Kharkiv Oblast, one almost completely destroyed—and another, a target of current Russian offensive from occupied territories).
No one was injured in the shelter, but the building itself was severely damaged.
Russia often attacks Kharkiv Oblast, and its troops are trying to advance further inside the region from the north (Kharkiv axis) and from the east and southeast (Kupiansk axis). The region is also often a target of Russian air strikes on civilian and critical infrastructure.
