UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Oct. 14 — On Oct. 13, at 9:50 p.m., Russian forces launched an air strike on the Saltivskyi district of Kharkiv, damaging one of the hospital outbuildings.

“The hospital was full of people, because it is a city hospital that is in high demand. There are always a lot of people and patients here,” said Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

A Russian attack injured 57 patients, six of them were hit by broken glass and others got an intense stress reaction, reported the Kharkiv regional Prosecutor’s Office.

Oleksii Datsenko, medical director of surgical care, told Suspilne that the attack damaged the building where people with endocrine diseases, including diabetes, are treated.

He said that there were over 100 patients in the facility where the windows had been blown out, and they had been moved to the main hospital building.

Terekhov said that more than 200 windows were blown out in the hospital building. Also, Russian bombs damaged power lines, leaving several districts of Kharkiv without electricity.

As for the night of Oct. 13, the mayor said that over 30,000 customers were left without power.

“Russians continue to attack power generation, transformer substations, and power transmission networks. They want to do everything possible to destroy the supply of energy,” said Terekhov.

Also, a Russian attack caused a fire in a garage building covering an area of 85 square meters on the hospital territory. The explosion destroyed the garage boxes and damaged 19 cars.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the Russians launched glide bombs with a long-range module.

This module allows the bomb to fly for 95 kilometers (59 miles) and attack not only Kharkiv but also the settlements to the south of the region.
