UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Oct. 10 — Overnight Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy and gas infrastructure left nearly 200,000 households in Kharkiv without electricity, said Oleh Syniehubov, governor of Kharkiv region, to Gwara’s journalists.
At the beginning of October, Russians hit critical infrastructure in Kharkiv Oblast several times, damaging electric substations and objects of natural gas production. City Mayor Ihor Terekhov said that, in the upcoming months, Kharkiv will face “the toughest winter” yet.
As of 8:00 p.m., Kharkiv regional energy company said that, while energy workers have managed to recover parts of the damaged infrastructure, emergency outages are still implemented across the city.
Russian attacks across Ukraine this night caused blackouts in nine regions of the country and Kyiv.
