UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLSAT, Aug 1 — Over the past day, Russian troops shelled six settlements of the Kharkiv Oblast, injuring two people, reported Oleh Syniehubov, governor of the region, and the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
The governor says Russia attacked the region with three glide bombs, five Geran-2 drones, and three FPV drones.
In Kupinaks, around 9:30 a.m. and 12:40 p.m., Russian FPV drone attacks injured a 51-year-old man and a 54-year-old man.
The same day, at 5:00 p.m., a Russian drone hit a residential house in Ruska Lozova village of the Kharkiv district, setting fire to the roof of the house. No casualties have been reported, and the drone type is being identified.
Russia also damaged a house and warehouse facilities in Malyi Burluk and a non-functioning orphanage in Shevchenkove village of the Kupiansk district.
State Emergency Services (SES) in the region reported that a Russian drone attack in Izium set fire to an area of 700 meters. Overall, on Jul 31, rescuers put out four fires caused by Russian shelling in Izium, Kupiansk, and Kharkiv districts of the Oblast.
Previously, Syniehubov reported that Russia purposefully attacks civilian gatherings in the Kharkiv Oblast.
On July 30, Russia launched missiles at a warehouse in Vasyshcheve, a village on the outskirts of Kharkiv, killing one and injuring seven people.
On July 29, they hit Novoplatonivka in the Borova community, killing seven people and injuring 2. People in the village were standing in the queue for humanitarian aid before the Russian rockets hit.
Kharkiv oblast, located in the northeast of Ukraine, borders Russia and is encroached by Russian troops from the north, east, and southeast.
