UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Sep. 24 — On Sep. 23, Russian forces launched 18 Shahed drones at Kharkiv over one hour, hitting Shevchenkivskyi and Kholodnohirskyi districts and injuring a 24-year-old man, reported Oleh Syniehubov, governor of the Kharkiv region.
Over the past day, Russians also attacked six settlements in Kharkiv oblast, injuring three people and damaging houses, residential and farm buildings, cars, and power networks in the Kharkiv, Kupiansk, Izium, and Chuhuiv districts.
In Kharkiv, 16 Russian drones hit the Kholodnohirskyi district, and other attacks set a fire in the Shevchenkivskyi district. There were power supply problems in some areas of the city after the attack.
Regional emergency services reported about four fires in the Kholodnohirskyi district at 7:40 a.m. on Sep. 24. The Russian attacks also damaged houses and cars.
The press office of the energy supplier “Kharkivoblenergo” said that Russia left over 80,000 customers without electricity. Repair groups have restored power to 50,000 customers with work still ongoing.
At 9:30 a.m., Volodymyr Skichko, spokesperson of “Kharkivoblenergo,” told journalists that 30,000 customers still had no power.
Kharkiv City Council said that some ground-based electric transport will not be operating because of problems with the power supply after the Russian attack.
