UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, May 21 — Russian forces launched an aerial bomb at an apartment building in Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, a settlement in Kupiansk district, said local police.
On May 20, Russian troops attacked Kharkiv and six other settlements in the region, injuring six civilians. Also, Russia tried to advance four times on the Kharkiv and Kupiansk axes.
The Local State Emergency Service said that a Russian attack killed one civilian and injured four. The aerial bomb damaged the entrance of a three-story building, a neighborhood apartment building, and houses in the private sector.
Andrii Kanashevych, the head of the Kupiansk district military administration, told Suspilne that a man may still be trapped under the rubble.
“(Injured — ed.) women refused to be hospitalized. There is an opportunity to evacuate (in the community), and women can leave, but they haven’t decided yet. This is the left bank (the Oskil River divides the city into two parts, and the left bank is closer to the frontline), which is dangerous. The police will investigate the situation and consider what to do next,” said Kanashevych.
Earlier, Oleh Syniehubov, the governor of Kharkiv Oblast, said that civilians from frontline settlements continue to be evacuated. In Kupiansk, on the left bank, 98 people live without communications or a way to repair them, and 1,200 people live on the right bank.
