UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Dec. 31 — On Dec. 30, soldiers of the 116th mechanized brigade published photos of destruction in Kupiansk on the Facebook page of the brigade.
Kupiansk is still engulfed in fighting. In the middle of December, Ukrainian troops reportedly managed to surround Russians in the city and push them out of its northern parts, though Russian troops are still trying to occupy it.
“Russia keeps destroying Ukrainian cities,” the 116th brigade wrote. “In these photos is the previously cozy and peaceful Kupiansk, which Russia turned into ruins and complete devastation.”
On Dec. 26, the Achilles brigade said that Russians deployed their elite drone unit “Rubicon” and sent additional reserve troops to seize Kupiansk again.
