UKRAINE, Sep. 2 — The Center of Strategic Communication of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said that the “price” of the Russian operation during this year’s spring-summer campaign is 124 dead soldiers for each km² of occupied territory.
The Economist suggested that Russia’s daily death toll during this year’s summer offensive is higher than at any other point in the Russia-Ukraine war. They counted that roughly 31,000 Russians may have been killed in May and June of 2025.
On Sep. 2, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence reported about 28,790 dead or injured Russian soldiers in August.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also reported that Russia lost about 210,000 troops during the combat in Kharkiv, Luhansk, and Donetsk regions since the beginning of 2025.
Ukrainian forces also destroyed and damaged 217 armored combat vehicles, 1201 tanks, 7303 artillery systems, and 157 multiple rocket launchers during this year.
