UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Jun 12 — During the night from 1:37 to 3:08 a.m., Russia attacked three districts of Kharkiv with 12 Shahed drones, one of which didn’t explode, reported Ihor Terekhov, the mayor.
Russia continues to attack Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, located about 19 miles from the Russian border. On June 11, Russia hit Kharkiv with 17 drones, killing four and injuring 64 people.
In the June 12 attack, Russia injured 18 people, including four children aged 2, 12, 16, and 17. A 2-year-old boy was hospitalized, said local police.
In Saltivskyi district, the largest residential area of Kharkiv, a Russian drone hit the roof of a high-rise building. Another drone hit the ground near a 24-story apartment building. Explosions damaged 10 cars, reported the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a Russian drone hit the ground on the school area. As a result of the attack, grass and debris caught fire, and an explosion damaged the windows of a multi-story building. Another Russian drone also struck the ground, damaging windows of three apartment buildings.
In the Slobidskyi district, a Shahed drone destroyed a store building, and fire broke out on its site, covering an area of about 2,150 square feet (200 square meters).
