UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Dec. 5 — Nearly 1 p.m. on Dec. 5, Russian forces launched five missiles on energy infrastructure in Kharkiv, said Ihor Terekhov, the city’s mayor. 

The Russian attack injured a 58-year-old man, reported Kharkiv’s Prosecutor’s office. Currently, experts are identifying the type of missiles.   

Terekhov added that the Russian attack severely damaged energy infrastructure in the Slobidskyi district of Kharkiv. 

Russia aims to leave Ukraine without critical infrastructure during the winter. Russian forces once again targeted Ukrainian energy infrastructure in autumn 2025. These attacks are continuing in 2026.
