UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Aug 1 — Russia launched 103 air attacks on Kharkiv, killing one person and injuring 164 people, including 20 children, reported Mayor Ihor Terekhov on his Telegram channel.
In particular, Russian troops launched 81 Shahed drones on the city, nine glide bombs, including the ones with UMPB-5 module, two Iskander missiles, one FPV drone, and other types of kamikaze drones, including Molniya and Chernika.
“Often, (Russian) used combined attacks: first, (they hit the city) with glide bombs, then with Shaheds, and all of that (was launched) at one target. That fits into another familiar tendency of (Russian troops using) double-taps with minimal time intervals, when the emergency services, doctors, and rescues are already working at the impact site.”
Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, is located in the northeast of Ukraine. Russia has been frequently shelling it since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, destroying civilian buildings and killing, injuring people.
In July, Russian strikes damaged buildings in eight out of nine districts in the city.
