UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Feb. 24 — Russia killed 2,121 people, including 111 children, in Kharkiv oblast since the beginning of the full-scale invasion on Feb. 24, 2022, reported Yurii Papusha, head of Kharkiv regional Prosecution’s Office. He noted that those are only confirmed numbers of people Russia killed. 

Apart from that, Papusha said, 6,760 people, including 643 children, suffered because of Russian aggression (e.g., were injured). Russia also destroyed 93,000 objects in Kharkiv oblast. 

Recent data from the Kharkiv city council also showed that Russians have damaged over 4,700 multi-apartment buildings and over 3,500 houses in the city since February 2022. 

Papusha added that Kharkiv law enforcement opened over 27,400 cases of war crimes investigations. 180 people were named suspects of committing war crimes, 26 of them are Russian generals and colonels. 62 cases prosecuting 146 people committing war crimes are already in courts. Ukrainian courts released 19 verdicts and found 28 people guilty. After these trials, three Russians were sentenced to life imprisonment.
