UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Jul 2 — Gwara Media compiled the statistics published by Ihor Terekhov, the Kharkiv mayor, and calculated that Russian forces hit Kharkiv with 421 air attacks from January 1 to June 30, killing 25 people, including one child.

Russian attacks injured 581 people, including 61 children, over these six months.

June became the hardest month of 2025 for Kharkiv. The Local Emergency Department recorded 142 Russian attacks that killed 15 and injured 157 civilians.

Earlier, the UN reported that in the first five months of 2025, the number of civilian casualties in Ukraine was almost 50% higher than in the same period last year, with an increase observed in the summer months.

Terekhov said that June has “an absolute anti-record in terms of with the number of air raid alerts since the beginning of the Russian full scale invasion.” 

In June, This month, Russia launched on Kharkiv:

  • 111 Shahed drones;
  • two Molniya drones;
  • two FPV-drones;
  • nine aerial guided bombs;
  • three Kh-35 missiles;
  • two Iskander-M missiles;
  • two North Korean KN-23 missiles;
  • one unidentified missile;
  • four attacks fromwith Tornado-S multiple launch rocket systems.

Russia also damaged 383 civilian houses in all districts of Kharkiv in June.

In June, Russian troops launched a new type of drone called Chernika to attack Kharkiv.

Kharkiv is Ukraine’s second-largest city, located in the northeast of the country. It is about 19 miles from the Russian border, which allows Russian forces to frequently attack civilians and critical infrastructure.
