UKRAINE, STUDENOK, Mar. 26 — Russian troops hit a fire station building in Studenok village of Izium district in Kharkiv oblast, reported State Emergency Services (SES) of Ukraine. They added that the attack destroyed the fire-rescue unit of a local fire department.
Russia also attacked rescuers in the Kherson region, also hitting a building of a fire station, and in the Sumy oblast, damaging a fire depot.
“And that’s during one day!” the SES said.
No casualties have been reported from the attacks.
Russia attacks medics and other first responders often, especially in the frontline region. On Mar. 25, firefighters were putting out a fire in the aftermath of the Russian shelling in Velykyi Burlyk of the Kharkiv oblast. They came under Moscow’s double-tap strike half an hour after arriving there. No casualties have been reported after the attack, either.
On Mar. 24, local authorities also reported they’re planning to forbid going to the frontline areas of Kharkiv oblast for medical teams without electronic warfare (EW) systems to protect them from drones.
