UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Jan. 26 — On Jan. 24 Russia attacked Kharkiv with 25 Shahed drones, injuring 31 people, including two children, reported Ihor Terekhov, Kharkiv mayor.

Ukraine’s Emergency Service said that because of the Russian attack, fires broke out and significant damage was caused in the city, especially in the Industialnyi District, a densely populated area with 4,630 apartment buildings. There, Russian drones hit the balcony of a nine-story apartment building, apartments on the fourth floor of high-rise buildings, and the building of one of the enterprises.
In the Nemyshlianskyi district, a Shahed drone hit the courtyard of a house, damaging the windows of nearby buildings.
At one of the impact sites, doctors provided medical assistance to a 25-year-old pregnant woman right at the scene.
One of the Russian drones hit near a dormitory where internally displaced persons were living and the maternity ward of one of the city’s hospitals was also damaged.

“Everything was flying over our heads, we were sitting in a shelter. It was a night like nights in 2022, when we sat in the shelter for six months. Today is exactly the same night. It was terrible,” recalls Natalia, a resident of one of the damaged houses.
In addition, the Emergence Service recorded strikes on the road between houses that damaged street lighting and cars. No information about casualties at this location has been reported.
Oksana, another Kharkiv local, said that she was at home with her husband during the attack.
“We were at home when we heard the first explosion. We ran out into the hallway, then there was a second explosion. We heard a ‘Shahed’ flying overhead. Running out into the hallway saved us, because the windows and glass were shattered.”
