UKRAINE, KHARKIV REGION, Feb. 19 — Since the beginning of 2026, Russian forces have launched nearly 740 attacks on the Kharkiv region. In half of them, Russia used kamikaze drones, said Ihor Klymenko, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine
Klymenko said that the Kharkiv region remains under the constant threat of Russian air strikes. The minister noted that in 2026 alone Russia killed 62 people in the Kharkiv oblast, including five children.
Klymenko also said that Russia destroyed 1,200 civilian facilities since the beginning of the year. He added that the workers of the emergency service are the first who arrive at the impact sites after another Russian attack and, everyday, over 500 rescuers and 150 vehicles are on duty.
