Russia attacks Kharkiv outskirts with missiles, kills 1, injures 5 (Photo)

UKRAINE, VASYSHCHEVO, Jul 30 — Russia hit the Vasyshchevo village in the Kharkiv outskirts at about 12:00 p.m., killing a person and injuring four people, local officials report. Later, the press service of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that the number of civilians injured had increased to five, with another woman injured.

Gwara Media’s journalists have been to the impact site in Vasyshchevo to document the aftermath of the Russian attack.

Russia launched missiles at the storage building of the Ukrainian market network, said Maksym Klymovets, the deputy head of the Prosecutor’s Office of Kharkiv Oblast, to Gwara’s journalists.

Serhii Bolvinov, the head of investigations in the Kharkiv regional police, said there were two S-400 missiles.

The Russian attack killed a 63-year-old worker of the logistics business, located in this building. Medical workers hospitalized a 65-year-old man, a 74-year-old man, and a 47-year-old woman; the other injured have explosive wounds.

Also, three State Emergency Service workers were injured while extinguishing the fire.

A fire in a storage building covered an area of about 20,000 square kilometers, said Yevhen Vasylenko, a spokesman for Kharkiv’s State Emergency Service, to Gwara.

“Over 100 rescuers and 28 units, including 19 tanker trucks, were involved. In addition, special emergency rescue vehicles, a fire train, and other specialized firefighting equipment were deployed,” he said.

“This civilian facility operates entirely for a chain of grocery stores. There was nothing military here. Most people are alive. There is one dead. And it’s probably sad to say, but it’s a miracle, because there could have been more,” said Oleksandr Symentsov, the director of the logistics business.

At night on July 30, Russian forces launched attack drones Geran-2 at the Shevchenkivskyi and Slobidskyi districts of Kharkiv, injuring three people.
