UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Feb 24 — Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion on Feb 24, 2022, Russia has attacked 8,239 residential buildings, 223 administrative buildings, and 2,344 critical infrastructure objects in Kharkiv, reported city Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

Russia also damaged or destroyed 132 schools, 114 kindergartens, 129 facilities for higher education, 89 healthcare facilities, and 15 cultural institutions in the city.

“The price of our resistance is incredibly high. The city hasn’t seen this scale of destruction since the times of the Second World War,” Terekhov said.

Russian troops have attacked Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city that’s about 19 miles from the border with Russia, and Kharkiv region often since the start of the full-scale invasion.

In September 2024, strikes on the eastern and southeastern parts of the region ramped up as Russia intensified its offensive on the Kupiansk axis.
