UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Oct. 14 — On Oct. 14, the 66th Mechanized Brigade received at least eight messages about Russian drones waiting in ambush — “waiting” drones — on the Izium-Sloviansk highway, said Olena, a deputy head of MARA unmanned systems battalion of the brigade to Armiia TV.

Olena also said that Russian heavy strike drones, known as “Koshchei” (similar to the Ukrainian “Vampire” and “Baba Yaga”), have been spotted on the Lyman axis.

“It means that some Russian unit has come in to reinforce the 20th Army (the unit of Russian forces, which operates on Lyman axis),” she said.

Russian forces started attacking the Izium-Sloviansk highway at the beginning of September. There weren’t any anti-drone nets there back then.

Gwara journalists sent requests, communicated with officials and military personnel to find out how Russian FPVs manage to reach this highway and what is the threat of the drone control over it.
