UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Oct. 8 — Ukraine’s forces have to change their logistic routes to avoid constant threat of Russian attacks on the Kupiansk axis, said Petrovych, an officer in the communication department of the 77th airmobile brigade, during the national telethon.

Russian troops keep up their offensive on the Kupiansk axis with small infantry groups, despite huge losses of personnel. They ramped up their assaults in the area this August. Kupiansk itself is currently closed because of Ukraine’s counter-sabotage operation.

Petrovych said that the weather had a significant impact on the work of Ukrainian drone units, especially rain and fog. Heavy rain also affects equipment roadability, he added, but there are no swamps in this area yet (created by rainy weather — ed.), which is good for food and ammunition supply.

Also, the Ukrainian military recorded the presence of an elite drone unit called Rubicon on the Kupiansk axis in recent months.

On Sep. 7, the Institute for the Study of War reported about advances of the Russian army on the Kupiansk and Velykyi Burluk axes.
