UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Jun 4 — On June 3, Russian forces launched new types of drones with simple explosive parts on Kharkiv. Specialists are still working to identify these drones, said Oleh Syniehubov, governor of the region, during a meeting with journalists.

Russia continues to modify its weapons to make new ways to terrorize civilians in Ukraine. Recently, they started using an aerial bomb with a long-range module that can fly for 95 kilometers (59 miles) and attack not only Kharkiv but the settlements to the south of the region.

Russian troops launch 20 “Molniya” drones a day in Kharkiv, but only one or two can reach the city, Syniehubov said, adding:

“They want to reach Kharkiv in any possible way.”

Now, Ukrainian forces are building a new defense system against Russian drones of different types.

“This system must be as effective as possible against challenges that we have, including Shaheds, Geran, and new drones,” said Syniehubov.

On June 4, Russian forces conducted a combined attack with two missiles and nine Shahed drones on the Novobavarskyi district of Kharkiv, injuring a 30-year-old man.
