UKRAINE, KHARKIV, May 2 — In April, Russian attacks damaged 533 buildings in Kharkiv, reported Kharkiv mayor Ihor Terekhov.
Earlier, Terekhov said that over the past month, Russians attacked Kharkiv Oblast 136 times, injuring 230 people and killing seven people, including one child.
“Last month, there were the most massive attacks on our city since the beginning of full-scale war. Unfortunately, April was record-breaking not only because of the number of attacks but because of the scale of damage,” said Terekhov.
There are 10,533 broken windows in damaged buildings, and municipal workers temporarily boarded up 90% of them. However, full glazing has not yet been completed, Terekhov said.
“We are working with funds, helping people to apply for state compensation. We are doing everything to have time (to prepare for the winter — ed.),” said Terekhov.
Also, there were 147 roofs damaged in the buildings, 109 of which are now repaired.
Since the beginning of May, Russians already launched three aerial guided bombs, four Shahed drones, and two Molniya drones on towns and settlements of Kharkiv Oblast, damaging and setting fire to civilian infrastructure, said Oleh Syniehubov, governor of the region.
